Sandwich Generation Support Group: Senior Living Options and Resources

f you're feeling "sandwiched" between caring for your children and your aging parents join us for this ongoing support group for resources, support and strategies to help you navigate this time. This month we will be joined by Natasha Berk, Co-founder of Atlanta Senior Advocates (and fellow member of the Sandwich Generation). Natasha will speak about Senior Living Options and Resources. She will discuss what they are, how to access them, what they cost and when to start exploring these options. There will be also be time for Q and A and group support.

Do you experience feelings of guilt when you feel like you are not doing enough? This Sandwich Generation Support Group is for you! This is the first of what I hope will be an ongoing source of support, resources, strategies and solidarity for those navigating this time. Delicious sandwiches will be served during this lunchtime group.

Based on the concepts from the book "Don't Be Your Own Bully", this workshop will introduce a gang of bullies, "The Self-Esteem Stealers" that live in each of our heads. Through interactive discussion and art activities, your child will learn to deal with their inner bullies so they can learn to love themselves on Valentine's Day and every day! Don’t Be Your Own Bully available at a a discounted price of $10 for workshop participants.

Don't Be Your Own Bully for CTK Students- various grades

Does your child put herself down or say things will never work out? Is she harder on herself than anyone else is? This workshop can help. In this workshop, students will be introduced to a gang of bullies, “The Self-esteem Stealers” which are our inner voices that chip away at our self-esteem. Through interactive discussion and art activities, students will learn how to talk back to their inner bullies and leave with tools to help them increase their self-esteem.

This workshop will adhere to Covid-19 safety protocols and social distancing requirements and will be limited to no more than 10 students. It will be held on Wednesdays in March from 3-4:30. Investment is $60 and will include a copy of the book “Don’t Be Your Own Bully: A Guide to Recognizing and Defeating the Self-Esteem Stealers that Live in Our Head”. To register click here

*Please note, if a group sells out, additional groups may be added if there are at least seven interested participants. Please contact Kristine Smith or Kerri Golding Oransky if you are interested in a group that has sold out and/or sign up on the waitlist on the registration page.

If your child already struggles with anxiety, these fears and worries are undoubtedly heightened during these uncertain times right now. Social distancing prevents us from meeting in person, but that should not stop us from gaining support from one another.
